Rev. Albert Pete

Albert was the fourth son born January 19, 1961, to the proud parents, John and Lucinda Pete. Albert was born and raised on the west side of Chicago where he and his brother were well known and sought after by all the ladies. He received his formal education through the Chicago Public School System. During his life, Alber picked up several skills and trades which taught him how to be good with his hands and landed him many jobs. From electrical to drywalling, to painting and laying tar, etc. He often mentioned the best times he had was working in his dad’s convenience store alongside his brothers.

In 1978, Albert fathered his oldest son (Albert) and in 1984 he married his son's mother, Rose Simmons. This union was dissolved and Albert began a quest that would change his life. He pursued a relationship with God and united with Love Tabernacle M.B.C. under the direction of Rev. R.E. Moore. It is here where he rededicated his life to Christ and lead several of his family members back to the Lord. in 1991, Albert answered the call on his life to preach the Gospel, he began to flourish as a man of God.

In 1993, now Rev. Albert Pete married Annette Rowe and to this union, a son (Azel) was born. After being under the tutelage of Pastor Moore, Rev. Albert Pete birth a church, Tabernacle of Love M.B.C., which started in Milwaukee, WI, and eventually moved to Chicago. Tabernacle of love gave Pastor Albert Pete a purpose and passion for evangelizing, especially to his family and friends. After a few years of serving, Pastor Pete suffered a few minor strokes and a major stroke which forced him to dissolve the ministry. Even though it dissolved the ministry, it did not dissolve his faith. For it was by faith, Pastor Pete was able to overcome the many obstacles brought on by these series of events.

Pastor Pete loved to have a good time with family and friends. He was a great dresser, cook, and dancer. He enjoyed family get-togethers where we would joke, laugh, and eat. Pastor Pete wanted the fried chicken straight out of the grease. However, he enjoyed nothing more than his mother's dressing, greens, ham, and chocolate cake.

In September of 2020, his brother Kelly saw fit to relocate his mom and brothers in an effort to assist her in caring for them. On October 10, 2020, God called Rev. Pete from labor to reward. His presence will be greatly missed but we know he is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

Albert is preceded in death by his father, John Sr.; brother, Roy; and grandson, Kyle.
