A time to be BORN…February 29, 1928 (Early childhood at Rotherwood Mansion under the ownership of John B. Dennis.)

A time to DIE…December 2, 2021


A time to WEEP…Loved ones who preceded Jill in death: Parents, James and Inez Looney; Husband, Mack Henry Ellis and much beloved aunt, Hazel Stacy.


A time to LOVE… Seven children left to mourn her loss:

A time to LAUGH…15 Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren:

Tinna Thompson (adopted daughter of Dawnella), Kevin Evans, Lindsay Ellis, Erin Harrison, Mitchell Ellis, Mack Henry Ellis, Nikki Rutledge, Tyren McClendon, Jocelyn Ellis, Emerson Ellis, Monique Wylie, E.J. Fulson, Emory

McClain, Delane Fulson, and Matthew Fulson. Khaliah, Kaden, Hayden, Paige,

Amir, Mack Henry III, McKenna, Demarquez, Vashawn, Justin, Little Rah, and

Londyn. Braylon, Sage, Zoe, Jaylen, Anayia, Noah, Marquis, Erielle, Amani, Emory Jr., and

Elijah. As well as a host of adopted children and great-grandchildren.

At the age of 89 she becam an accomplished author with her book, Denny at Rotherwood.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 5 pm – 8 pm at Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church.

Funeral services for Ms. Virgealia "Jill" Ellis will be conducted Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11 am from Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church. Interment will follow at the VA National Cemetery Mt. Home TN.
