Evangelist Kathy Collins

Mrs. Kathy Dianne Collins made her transition from Ballard Holston Valley Hospital into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. She was born, October 6, 1954, in Rogersville, Tennessee to the late Carrie Mae and Lewis Rogers. She was the second of five children.

Kathy matriculated the public school system in Tennessee graduating from Rogersville High School in 1972. After graduation, she briefly attended Knoxville College soon deciding to enter the workforce and pursue a career in the field of Security. She diligently ensured the safety of youth while on this career path but soon heeded a greater passion in the medical field. She became a Certified Nurse Assistant fulfilling the call to care for others and faithfully served in that capacity until retirement in 2009.

On July 2, 1972, Kathy married the love of her life, Mr. Howard Thomas Collins, Sr. Two children were born of this union, Ba’ylon and Howard III. Kathy also embraced Howard II, Theresa, and Ebony and loved them unconditionally. Kathy’s heart and arms flung open once again as she embraced “Presi” and made him a member of her family.

Kathy loved sewing, gardening, cooking and most of all her family. Valentine’s Day 1991 she found a greater love when she heard the call of God and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She walked in her calling as an Evangelist and eagerly shared the gospel message at every opportunity. Her love for music led her to join the choir where she could offer praise to God continually. She loved God and continued to serve in the kingdom by her “Daily Word Live” stream via Facebook. She was a woman of prayer and faith who maintained to the end that: “I know God has healed me.”

In God’s appointed time, Kathy’s sister Alfreda Inez Womack preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Ms. Ba’ylon Charelle Collins, Mr. Howard Satar (Jamesha) Morrison, Mr. Howard Thomas Collins, II, Mrs. Theresa (Crystal) Collins, Mrs. Ebony Angel Goode, and Mr. Hal-Presidente Ronald Boyce; two sisters, Carrie Lee Cash and Doris Jean Rogers; one brother, Louis Rogers, Jr.; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special family and friends.

Services will be conducted Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 1 pm from Powerful New Life Church of God in Christ. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service.

Burial will follow at Mitchell Crest Cemetery, Rogersville, TN.
