Linda Hale Wade departed this life on August 13, 2018, after a brief illness.
Linda Wade was born on April 8, 1956, in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Robert E. Hale Sr. and Rebecca M. Hale. She was the youngest of six children.
She is a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, class of 1975, where she was one of the very first African-American women to be elected to the cheer squad.
She was employed at Eastman Chemical Company as a chemist for 25 years.
She was later employed by her high school alma mater, as a career counselor, where she was affectionately known as the “Sarge”
Along with her devoted husband Reverend Delbert “Donny” Wade they owned and operated “Fit to a T” Alterations in downtown Kingsport for over 9 years.
Mrs. Wade is preceded in death by her late husband, Reverend Delbert “Donny” Wade; father, Robert E. Hale Sr.; mother, Rebecca M. Hale; and sister, Deloris Singleton.
Her memory will be cherished most by her two devoted sons, Qiane Hale and Dustin Jerome Wade; brothers, Fred “Tank” Hale (Carolyn Dulaney Hale), Robert “Sparky” Hale, Jr., Carl “Twig” Hale (Chynet Bond-Hale), and William “Tarik Hassan” Hale; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and cherished friends.
Services for Mrs. Linda Wade will be conducted Saturday, August 18, 2018, from Central Baptist Church at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
