Mr. Herman Andrew Logan, age 93, passed away July 6, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was a decorated U.S. Army World War II veteran, which included extended service in a foreign combat zone. Friends and family will attest that discipline and patriotism garnered from his military service remained lifelong attributes.
He was raised in Kingsport, TN with his brothers and sisters and mother (Zenie) and father (Avery) and remained a lifelong resident for many years. He was a 17 year employee and retiree of Eastman Kodak Company. After the death of his first wife, Emma, he met and married Dorothy and together they shared a life envied and adored by those that knew them. A Dallas Cowboys fan, he was also a knowledgeable enthusiast of many different sports. He devoted as much time as possible to his love of fishing. He attended Mount Zion Tabernacle Holiness Church of Kingsport.
Herman Logan was a man true to his word, who would offer a stranger help, had a heart of gold and smile that lit up the room. He will truly be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Ella; son, Octavius, his brother and sister, Avery Logan Jr.(Evelyn) and Ruth Ford, and a large number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and many close friends.
