Mrs. Mary Evelyn Higgins

Mary Evelyn Higgins, 85, of Fall Branch was called home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and niece. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, playing the piano, and cross stitching. Family members, friends, and strangers were touched and blessed by her many talents. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Foster and Dale Taylor. Mr. Alan Watterson

Mr. Alan Watterson departed this life on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Holston Valley Medical Center and Greystone Healthcare. A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Jon Neilson Vazquez departed this life on May 9, 2020. He was born on November 11, 1981, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Susan McNeil Vazquez. Jon is survived by his fiancé, Jolene Kotsonis; daughters, Alysia Vazquez, Brooklyn Kotsonis, and Cassandra Vazquez; brother Javier Vazquez; sister, Tilia Vazquez; best friend and brother, Damien Brown; father, John Vazquez; nephew, Joaquin Vazquez; sister-in-law, Yadhira Vazquez; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and brothers.

Ms. Betty Lou Hardin

Betty Lou Hardin, a long time resident of the Tri-Cities area and a resident of Grace Healthcare in Abingdon, Virginia, departed this life on May 4th, 2020 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born in 1929 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to parents Carl Hardin (deceased) and Fannie Mae Leeper (deceased); raised in a large loving family that consisted of three brothers and four sisters. Betty worked caring for others and their homes for most of her life and was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia. Ms. Sonja Marie Clisby

Marie, as she was known by most, was born July 8, 1980. She received her wings and went to be with Jesus on May 1, 2020. She suffered from juvenile diabetes and fought very hard to keep it under control, but the fight got too much for her, and our father in Heaven saw her struggles and decided it was time for her to come home and be free of the disease and pain. Marie was preceded in death by her father, Gary Eugene Clisby; infant daughter, Kalila Clisby; grandparents, Harvey and Lila Clisby; and grandmother, Hilma Mae Cole Davis.
