Mr. Dan Phipps departed this life September 25, 2018 at Ballad Holston Valley Hsopital and Medical Center Kingsport, TN after a brief illness. Arrangements are incomplete but will be scheduled at a later date in South Lebanon, Ohio.

Mrs. Mary Ella Machen Johnson

Mary Ella Machen Johnson was born in Elizabethton, TN on December 6, 1948. She was the oldest daughter of the late Rev. M. D. Machen and Ola Mae Green Machen. Mrs. Johnson attended Douglas High School and graduated from Elizabethton High School, with honors in 1966. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from St. Augustine’s College, Raleigh NC in 1970. She graduated with honors, magna cum laude. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Mu and Phi Kappa Alpha Honor Societies. She appeared in “Who’s Who” Among Students In American Colleges and Universities (1969-70) Edition. She was also a member of “Mu Phi Beta” Music Sorority, on the Dean’s list and received numerous awards in Music.

Ms. Michelle Deneen Dennis

Michelle Deneen Dennis departed this life Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center. A Celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 6:00pm from Preaching Christ Church in Kingsport. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until the hour of service.

Ms. Angela M. Peters

Angela Peters departed this life September 5, 2018, at Ballad Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 10, 2018, at 1:00 pm from Clark Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service Inc. 802-806 E. Sevier Ave. Kingsport, TN. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Holston View Cemetery Weber City, Va.

Mr. Billy "Rick" Taylor

Mr. Billy Nathaniel “Rick” Taylor, Jr., 61, went home to rest in the arms of Jesus Wednesday, September 5th, 2018. Billy was born February 10th, 1957, in Camden, SC, to the late Billy Nathaniel Taylor, Sr, and Betty Jean Nelson Taylor. Billy graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1975 and further extended his education in trade school where he developed his love of his trade as an ironworker. Billy was blessed to travel and reside in the Caribbean Islands of St. Those and St. Croix before making his home briefly in Miami, FL, after which he came to the mountains of Tennessee where he met the love his life and they were blessed to have a union in marriage of almost 30 years.
