Ms. Loraine Henderson

Ms. Loraine G. Henderson, 98, passed away September 19, 2017, after a lengthy illness. She was born April 29,1919, in Bristol, VA, to the late LeRoy Henderson and Miss Susie Shelley Henderson. She graduated from Douglas School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from Virginia State University. Lorraine returned to Bristol where she taught Home Economics and 6th grade at Douglas School for 34 years before retiring. Miss Henderson was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and served as the treasurer until her health began to fail. She loved sewing and cooking dinner for her family and friends. Lorena Ann Whiteside Montgomery departed this life Sunday September 17, 2017. She was born May 5, 1926 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Lorena grew up in Bristol, Virginia and attended Douglas high school. Services for Ms. Montgomery will be held in Detroit, Michigan.

Susie Lee Harris, 91, passed away on September 17, 2017 at The Cambridge House in Bristol, TN. Born in Abingdon, VA to the late Oscar and Lavenia Brown, Susie was one of nine children with three brothers and five sisters. She graduated from Morristown College in TN where she majored in Education. It was also at Morristown where she would meet the love of her life, Grayson Marshall Harris Jr. The newlyweds moved to Bristol shortly thereafter where Susie worked as a 1st grade teacher. After the birth of her first child, Brenda Sue, Susie focused on being a homemaker and steward to the community. Richard T. Williams Sr., 90, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. He retired from both Uniysis Corporation and the Department of Social Services. Along with his parents and sister he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Williams, and grandson, David Allen Williams. He is survived by his sons, Richard Williams Jr. (Kathryn) and Larry A. Williams (Linda); daughter Barbara Junard (Emmanuel); stepson, Adrian Sensabaugh (Stephanie); stepdaughters, Latisha Sensabaugh-Harrris (Peter), Kimberly Norris (Tommy); and his devoted companion Linda Sensabaugh.
